Overall, our goal is to raise the level of debate in our community and introduce into debate new topics of practical, immediate value and others of theoretical, long-term value.
At our core are: social justice, environment, and quality of life (anti-corporate, consuming, fast-food culture). We are in this for the long haul -- conservation-based development, a 100-K diet, slow food epicurianism, the non-monetary rewards of community, and support of our artists and craftspeople.
We will aid in the building of a rural economy that is sustainable, that recognizes economic and ecological systems are mutually interdependent, that develops indigenous island enterprises, and provides opportunity for young and old alike.
We will be an outlet to articulate strategies for this goal.
